Before I ever opened the Bible, He stood in front of me.

For seven years I walked through my own darkness.

The Abyss

It was a transformation, but not a gentle one. I came face to face with the deepest abysses a person can carry inside. My own.

Panic attacks took my breath away. The fear came without warning, and it did not leave when I asked it to.

I searched for answers. First in my body: better nutrition, supplements, everything that was supposed to make me stronger. It helped me, and I am grateful for every one of those steps. But they were only the way. Not the destination.

I did not know the destination. I had never opened the Bible.

The Encounter

I meditated often. Silence was my refuge. But this one time was different.

A bright energy filled my body. A light that did not come from me. It spread until nothing was dark anymore.

And then He was there. In front of me.

Jesus.

I had not expected Him. I had not even been looking for Him. I was stunned. Only then was it revealed to me:

“If you want to come to God, then only through me.”

The Word

Afterward I was confused. I did not know what to do with what I had seen.

So I opened the Bible for the first time. And there it was. Exactly what had been revealed to me.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

Written almost two thousand years ago. Read by me only after I had lived it.

The Way

From then on it was clear to me: Jesus is the way.

That is why this site is called The Way · The Truth. Here I write down what I come to see along this way.

Maybe you are standing at the edge of an abyss yourself right now. Then know this: the light shines in the darkness. I have seen it.
